If that title isn’t an oxymoron, then I don’t know what is!
Josh had surgery yesterday, so today was to be a lazy, hang around the house day.
I unpacked the knitting…getting ready for the laziness:
but then I get a call from IKEA…my couches are being delivered today?!?! SURE!
Exciting times here…we’re making a very big shift in how things look…color and style wise. Think lighter and brighter…
So what was once this (not bad…just very brown and very heavy-feeling)…
is now this:
Next up for the living room? Painting the walls a shade darker than they are now, replacing the curtains with something lighter, and new rug…I’m thinking sisal…any opinions?
Also…something I’m LOVING in my new room…my new quilt rack designed and made by my brother-in-law…the Air Force pilot. It has adjustable rails so that you can change it based on the thicknesses of your quilts that you hang here. I love it…and feel completely spoiled!
Perhaps tomorrow…an actual crafting post!

Nice! Looks like the busyness was worthwhile. :D Love that quilt rack -- so cool! Hope surgery recovery goes well.
Nice sofas! I wish we had bought slip covered sofas... Next time! And that quilt rack is awesome!!
I hope you had a great Christmas and the new year brings good health and fortune.
Love the new sofas!
Love it all! I've got to get working on your drapes now. Hope you sent Will a pic of the quilt rack.
Dianne - that looks just the way I was hoping it would. I was a little worried the angle was too steep, but that just lets you see what the quilt actually looks like. Enjoy!
Love the new sofas! I think a sisal rug would look fabulous in the room, especially if you paint the walls a shade darker, sort of to match the sisal. Really fresh looking.
Hope the surgery and recovery went (or continues to go) well! What cuties they are on Christmas morning - just wait, 18 year old slept in...here we are, waiting and waiting... And it's just not the same kind of fun anymore. Not wishing for little ones around tho, by any means!
I love your scarf and the hat - I am just relearning (it's been about 40 years, I think I was seven when I learned to crochet and that was the end of knitting) and I am a beginner with a capital B - scarf - plain 'ole knitting and it still in the works three months later...been stitching tho.
I think that quilt rack is so way cool!! Does he think he will sell them in the future - I know some ladies that would for sure like them!!
