projects for vacation

I’m leaving for vacation tomorrow, and I’d love to take some projects with me.  I was thinking either the hexagons or the yo yo project.  Any thoughts on what would be better to work on while at the beach?  I’m leaning toward yo yos so I don’t have to worry about my paper hexagon templates getting wet.

I saw this project on Purl Soho’s blog yesterday, and I’m having a really hard time not running out to get felt and jump right in!  It would be a GREAT travel project, don’t you think?!!!

Of course I’m bringing books to read…that is…if my Barnes & Noble shipment comes in today!

If you were going to beach what would you take?

I love Purl Soho's blog! I always have to bring a few projects along with me on vacation, and of course my e-reader. :D And Laptop. Although these days I just bring my iPad. :D E-reader and laptop in one!

Last summer I took a bluework embroidery project out with me when we went fishing in the boat and inevitably it was around on a few beaches. It survived the ordeal quite well. I think if you can baste your hexies off the beach, sewing them together on the beach shouldn't be an issue. Have a great vacation!

The felt is fabulous! The colors and design just make you want to smile.
If I was going to the beach tomorrow I would take Sumer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews and The new Janet Evanovich. Guilty treats but perfect for the beach.
Have a great vacation!!

I think yoyo's might be easier than hexies, but if you have any embroidery or stitching it might be even easier.

Take your cross stitching and books of course. You can quilt when you get back....

I'd say all of the above but you've already left so it doesn't matter what I say. LOL

Relax and enjoy and do absolutely nothing. :-)

I'd go with yoyos, just because with my luck, the hexagon papers would blow away. Then again, you've already left, so it doesn't matter!! LOL

Those felt fruit pieces are adorable!!

Hope you have a great vacation!
