For my first sewing party, I’d say that I was relatively successful! I had so much fun keeping up with everyone’s progress throughout the day, on Kelly’s blog. I only posted twice…my first post and my progress post. The day was a busy one… But even with only 1 post, I did manage to win a prize…and I didn’t even know that there were prizes! Carol gave away a copy of the Fast & Furious Holiday Quilt as you Go by G.E. Designs.
This was on my wish list so I’m extra thrilled to have won a copy. Thank you so much Carol!
This morning I did manage to finish sewing and ironing all of my blocks. I will say…1/2 square triangles are not my forte…as so many of these are not the right size, so it will be interesting to say the least when I go to sew them together!
What do you think? I’m really tempted to cut them all down from 9” to 8.5”…

Ooh, I'm loving this one, Dianne. It's fabulous.
And congrats on winning the book. I bought it this year and LOVE IT. You'll be happy with it, I'm sure.
Oh Dianne I love it! Congratulations on the win! What fun!
I think they are gorgeous as is.
Dianne it looks great!!!! I bet you'll be surprised how much 'ease' there is with those HSTs and it will go together just fine! :o)
The colours are just yummy!
Nice prize! And the quilt -- looking good! I'm not good with half square triangles either. So you shouldn't listen to my advice. :D :D
I think it looks great - I've never done 1/2 square triangles
I really love your quilt mainly because I made it this summer. I made the large and small version from Schnibbles Times Two. I loved making it and love how it came out. One of my favorites. I adore the fabric you used-just perfect for that quilt.
Love the Bliss 1/2 triangles!
Congrats on the win!
I think 1/2 sq triangles just take practice--you'll learn how to not cut off points, etc., as you do more of them. I am anxious to do that quilt (and use up some Bliss!) but it's been so long since I've done HSTs that I am afraid to do it! LOL Yours looks great.
Oh, it looks so pretty! Those HST's are a bit of a pain, though they do make for pretty quilts! I know mine rarely turn out exactly right - but usually I fugde them together, and noone can tell! It really looks so pretty! Congrats on your win too - what a fun book!
Beautiful pictures and quilt top. Loved seeing how the pieces fit together.
It looks great, I love the colours.
Looks great!!
