I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets last weekend, and I’m donating a TON of stuff to goodwill that I just don’t use anymore. I mean that set of dishes has been up there for 3 years, since we moved into this house and I’ve never used them even once! Clearly I used to LOVE that yellow and blue combo of the late nineties… 
My kitchen cabs are SO MUCH happier now that they have more breathing room. The next victims of this cleaning are definitely going to be the random hardly ever/never ever used utensil drawers. There are 3 in my kitchen…and really truly I could do with 1-2.
A few nights ago, I was attempting to make some updates to the ole’ blog, and boy did I mess it up! SO unhappy with this new blogger designing thing, and it’s pretty much convinced me that I need to give up blogger and QUICKLY move somewhere else! It also has convinced me that I need to work on a permanent blog design…i.e. pay someone to come up with a custom layout and design for me. Any suggestions?
The last clean up item that I’m going to address today will be fun for you…my readers! This will apply to both stitchers and quilters, as I know that I most assuredly have both types of followers. I am cleaning out my stash and I’m going to have some giveaways, and some deep deep deep discounted items that I’ll be selling. Here are the first two items:
The 1st item(s) are my left over fabric from the quilt I made for my niece. It’s all from the Eden collection by Lila Tueller for MODA. There are 12 complete layer cake pieces, lots of scraps, and several larger pieces of yardage…a couple of which are at least 1/4 yard or even larger. I’m asking $15 for the whole lot. SOLD!!!
The 2nd item(s) are charts by Lizzie Kate. They are the 12 Flip-It Stamps that came out several years ago. They have never been used, and they still have the buttons included in each chart. Each chart retailed for $4, but today I’m selling the whole lot for $10. SOLD!!!

I had those same blue and yellow dishes!! A few years ago I got rid of all my small dinnerware collections and just went with all white. I'm so happy that I did! Now I just buy inexpensive accessories (platters and such) when I want and don't care if they only last a season or two.
If you're thinking of staying with Blogger I was super-happy with the ladies that worked on my design. They have a button on my sidebar if you want to check them out.
What a great idea! That is just the thing I need - I have so much rubbish in my house and we can't fit anything into our cupboards. It's so hard to know what to throw and what to keep though. x
I definitely need to do that clean up thing too. It's funny you don't like the new blogger designer thing. I tried it and actually found a new look for my blog that I love.
It's taking me the last few months, but I have tackled every room in my house. I had some modivation, I am putting my house on the market. When I finished I felt so free. Stuff can weigh you down.
I didn't know there was an official challenge going on, but I'm been playing my own Get This Crap Out of My House game for awhile now. I have been particularly ruthless the last few months. It's definitely true that the more you get rid of, the more you want to get rid of as you start to enjoy and appreciate the open space and breathing room.

I definitely need to do the clear the crap out of my house thing - sometimes it all seems so overwhelming - the soul always feels lighter after a really good clearout! Good on you for getting started.
OMG! I wish I lived near you. I would die to have those dishes. I LOVE blue and yellow.
I do this cleanup thing every few years and it seems to keep the place a lot tidier. I have our unused bathroom full of stuff that needs to go to goodwill or our yard sale.
I love doing this kind of thing! I've been doing it all summer - I still have too much stuff ...where does it all come from and how does it multiply but I'm working on it, I'm working on it!
