Lots of “new”s

I have been gone for a while…and believe me I’ve missed you guys!  First thank you all so much for the continued love for this blog even in my absence.  Love you all ;)  Second I need to show you all of my “new”s!  Ready?

First new, you know about.  My New Janome!janomeI (of course) am showing her off in her true habitat!  My messy sewing area in my dining room.  As you can see she’s been well used already.  And really…sorry about the mess in the background, but you see, I’m a realist…and this is my REAL sewing area.

Second, I have a new finish.finished plume schnibbleThis is the April schnibble “Tagalong” using Plume by Tula Pink for Moda.  I love this one because of all of the bright colors!

Third new…are some “new” projects at the casa.aqua chair

paint sampleI’m re-painting my old iron bistro set aqua…and I. LOVE. IT.  The next pic is of some paint samples I’m testing for my office/new sewing room.  Yeah, you heard me right…my plan is to kick out the old desktop computer that we NEVER use and start converting the room over to a sewing room for me!  YIPPEE!  The yellow is the existing really boring nasty flat builder grade paint.  The light splotch on the left was the color that I was so sure was right…until it was up on the wall.  The bigger blue blob is the one that is better, but maybe still a bit dark.  I think I need something in between.  Maybe I’ll take some white and mix it in with the darker one…hmmm…

And finally my last new is some news.  I have a new job, and I love it!  I have to work summers now, which will be a change, as I’ve had summers off for the last 4 years, but in exchange I’m making more money and I’m working with people that I love.  SO, the trade off is worth it, I think.

So…that’s about it for now.  I only completed one of my two April goals.  I finished the April schnibble.  I don’t think that I’m going to make goals this month.  Life is so busy…I’ll be sewing when I can.  Hope that your lives are fun and productive.  I’ll be reading :)

Wow, Dianne... all kinds of fun stuff!! Your new machine is so pretty. I bet it is fun to use. Your quilt is gorgeous! Love the colors!! I also love the new color of the bistro set. That aqua is so fun and summery. That darker blue color is really pretty. You will have to show us what you decide on. Congratulations on your new job. Sounds like you are very happy with it.
Have a great weekend!

Congratulations on your new Janome! I hope you love it as much as I love my two. Yes, I have two of the identical machine - one for home and one that stays in the case for using away from home. These machines do everything I want them to do whenever I ask. They play nicely with any thread I put through them, I've never a tension problem with either machine, and they are wonderful for both piecing and quilting. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Oh, and your schnibble is great!!

Wow, congrats on the new job! And I love, love, love the new quilt top - the colors are truly fab. And if I might ask, if you used spray paint for your bistro chair, could you share the color/brand. I've got a rolling metal cart I want to paint for my porch and can't seem to find the right color anywhere.

Congratulations on the new job.

A dedicated sewing room is just what you need to squeeze in some sewing time. You'll be amazed what you can accomplish in just 20 minutes of time squeezed in every now and then.

I'm really late to the comment party! I saw this post when you first published it and loved the quilt. It's just as cute now that I've looked at it a second time.
