I know there’s many of use out there who have often thought about our childhood and teenage years, and remembered the “hard” times with our parents…our mothers. I often had the thought…”I’ll never do that with my kids!” I had many years growing up that I could definitely say that I wasn’t close to my mom.
I’m so glad that last statement isn’t true anymore. Sure, there’s still times that we don’t agree on things, but I can guarantee you there’s not a 48 hour period that I don’t talk to her. We have so many of the same interests. Now I can see that we’re so alike in so many ways. My hopes and dreams for myself…and my kids…are the same that my mom had for herself and for us. And now I find myself saying “oh that was just like my mom.”
And for that I’m grateful.
My mom is a strong woman. She ran a business for 27 years out of our home. She carpooled every day, made our lunches every day, always had snacks ready for us after school, and never missed a field trip, dance recital, pep rally, or any other event that was important to us. She was an amazing example of love and strength for us, and I can only hope that 20 years from now my kiddos can look back and see the same in me.
Happy Mother’s Day, mom. I love you.

Beautiful post. You can bet your Mom loves you, too!
Happy Mother's Day!
Awww, so sweet! Happy Mother's Day to you and your mom!
What a wonderful and precious tribute to your mother...and to you too! God bless you both!!!
That was beautiful!! My mother & I definitely did not see eye to eye when I was a teenager but I am so happy to say that she is one of my best friends now. I realize with the 20/20 clarity of being an adult & a mother that she did the best she could, with the best of intentions. Also, that I would smack the you know what out of a kid of mine if they had the mouth that I did as a teenager!! LOL
Happy Mother's Day! Love your latest quilt top, btw.
I love you too, sweetheart!
This is the best mother's day gift you could give me.
