Have you noticed that my blog is called Suburban STITCHER?
Well, that’s because I started this blog as a cross-stitcher only.
But now I do so much more…
Are you stitchers still out there? Do you still read me…even though I have sort of abandoned you? I hope so…
I have been working on Peppermint Twist lately. I have enjoyed seeing this piece come to life and develop. Still love it!
I also finished a little doll quilt for our neighbor’s little girl who had her 2nd birthday last weekend. I still had some scraps from my Berry Delicious jelly roll…so it turned into a cute little “coin” quilt…
Finished size (before washing) is approximately 19 x 24.
I didn’t take a close up of the quilting, but I just stitched 1/4” in from both sides of the white sashing and also 1/4” in from the edges of the coins. Also I cheated…I sewed the binding on TOTALLY by machine.
Don’t throw me into quilt detention. I do know how to do it by hand…I just didn’t wanna.

Well, I like reading about everything that you have going on. I think that most of us stitchers don't really just get into stitching, but so many other things to. Peppermint Twist is really coming along and the doll quilt is adorable. I never would have known you sewed the binding on by machine! I think you have to cheat every once in a while! :)
Your stitching is coming along great and the doll quilt is so fun and bright. I'm sure the little one will be excited to use it for her dolls.
Oh we all love reading and seeing everythiing you are working on! Peppermint Twist is just lovely, what a fun piece!
And that sweet little quilt - I bet your neighbor was so excited to receive something you made.
I haven't caught up with you for a while, so I'm amazed by all of the quilt-type sewing you've been doing. Gorgeous! What a great idea to make a doll quilt for a little girl.
Peppermint Twist is looking great.
Those are beautiful projects!
I'm a stitcher, and I definitely still read - haven't been online much myself recently, because I haven't had access to a computer, but now that I have my own laptop, I'm playing catch up.
I love this project - I think I might even have it in my stash somewhere! I just haven't stitched it.
Nice work on the quilt - the colors are beautiful!
Peppermint Twist is looking great. The quilt is adorable! The colours are so sunny and fun.
Your Peppermint Twist is beautiful!
I'm having fun catching up on your quilting adventures! You have become quite the talented quilter! Your progress on PT looks great and I love the little doll quilt.
Peppermint Twist is looking gorgeous Dianne. I started this 1st December and am loving it.
Still here! PT is really gorgeous...great stitching!
I love Peppermint Twist and that little quilt is just too cute.
Love your mini quilt -- VERY CUTE! And, your stitchery is so pretty, too! That binding looks AWESOME - can't believe you did it all by machine! Way to go Dianne!
It's hard to choose whether to stitch or sew but I love to see everything no matter what the craft so long as it is hand made.
Your Peppermint Twist piece is so lovely and that little dolly quilt is adorable.
Congrats. on winning that wonderful giveaway. The fabrics you chose are yummy and I can't wait to see what you will do with them.
