Peppermint Twist Update

Here's the progress pic of Peppermint Twist that I promised. I just took this picture outside on my patio. It's a gorgeous day and the light is great...but yet the picture still looks funny...oh well.
Also, just because I love them, I'm sharing a picture of some pretty flowers that I planted this weekend. I spray painted the plain terracotta pot in an black "iron" finish (gotta love Krylon!). I love the purples and whites! You can also see a peek in the background of our very much "in progress" flowerbed!

video post

Setting the scene: Josh is watching tv and comes across Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original...not the new creepy version with Johnny Depp). Nicholas is in the room and also starts watching. The following video is what occurred next:

I just about fell out of my chair laughing! Kids are great! Hope that you were able to enjoy yours this weekend too!

PIF

I just received my very first PIF from Andrea! I was sooooooo thrilled when I was chosen as PIF winner on her blog...and I must say that I was even more thrilled to receive this...

I love that she added our initials and the year on the bottom...just the perfect touch! And no, Andrea, it didn't get too squished in the big hop over the pond! Thank you so much!

As for stitching that I've done...it hasn't been much. I have stitched a bit on Peppermint Twist at work this week, but unfortunately, I left it at work today :( so no pic until next week. I'm sure that I can find something to work on! (or this or this or this or this!)

The Prodical son

First news first...I found my Christmas Biscornu! Yes, thank you so much for the kind wishes and thoughts! Last night I pulled out this tote bag that has more kitted and 1/2 done projects than I care to admit...and I literally opened every page of every chart and went through every ziploc. There it was, in between two other pieces of linen for another 1/2 done project (more on this one later). I'm SOOOO glad to have found this again, because I really do enjoy the project! Here it is now...almost done...
Next up...I finished the Needlebook for the new LHN design. I'm not the best finisher...and these pictures make it look even worse...but it's done. I like my "primitive" style finishing for this one :)

I did also work on Peppermint Twist yesterday...actually on the Monday SAL day! But, I didn't stitch enough to warrant a picture. Maybe over the next few days I'll get something posted of that one too!

Edited to add: The needlebook on the LHN design is the limited edition accessory that was "very limited" at Nashville. I think that there were only around 400 made...I got pretty lucky! That's the plus-side to being a very good customer at my LNS...she goes out of her way to get the good stuff for me :)

I'm sad...

Strangely enough I have had a CRAZY case of startitis lately...combined with finishitis! I haven't decided exactly how this works yet...

Anyway, to why I'm sad... Last night during my "finishitis" moment, I went to get my Just Nan Christmas Biscornu, because I knew that I only had a little bit on 1 side left and then I could start the finishing for it. I am here to tell you that this little gem has grown legs and walked out of my house! I have my little ziploc bag with the threads, pattern, beads, etc...and no 1/2 done biscornu to be found!! I looked in a couple of other places that it "might" have been...and I can't find it! I REALLY like this one, and I was so close to being done...I really don't want to have to start over!!! AAAHHH!

OK, that's it...Hopefully I'll find it today... :(

Laser quick post...

...to say that I'm still here...busy at work...busy at home...sick kids are well now (thanks to MiMi!).

Here's a few updates on some projects...
This is My Everything...stitched on 40 ct. Abecedarian Blend using Belle Soie Tulip. This is a pic of it before I give it to Josh (the toole bow is not permanent...gimme a break people!). I wanted to take a pic before I gifted it to him, but my camera wasn't working, and I needed to get it wrapped up. I'll take a proper pic after he opens it.
Next is LHN's new market release...Traveling Stitcher...and my wee little start on the Needle page for this one...
Finally...a little start on Geranium House. I started this one evening when I was in bed...yes, in bed. My hubbie was watching TV and I couldn't sleep, so I pulled this out to work on. It's good for me, since the lights weren't great in there (it's on 28 ct. and most of my other projects these days are on 36 or 40).
Hope that everyone out there has a very lovely Valentines Day...whether you're celebrating or not! :)

New Project

Today I haven't stitched yet (and probably won't as it's 8:40 pm), but I did purchase the fabric for and completely finish a quilt top. I didn't take a pic (SORRY!) but here's a good pic of the fabrics that are included in the Moda Layer Cake that I got...
That's about it for today. We're taking care of a very sick little Nicholas today, so I better run off to bed, because I know that it will probably be a long night! I did just manage to put some new charts up for sale on my sale blog...including the charts for some of my more recent finishes!

Happy Stitching to you all!

Peppermint Lane Finished

I finished up Peppermint Lane today. It was a really fun stitch...even though it seemed to drag on forever!

I want to finish at least one more WIP before I start something new...at least that's the plan right now! We'll see if I actually stick to it :)

First 2009 Finish!

Yesterday I woke up at 4:15 for what I thought was just a mid-night feeding...and really it turned into being awake for the day. So, when I became truly aware that this was "good morning," I promptly started my coffee pot (at 4:35 am...which is just wrong!) and decided that I needed to stitch on something new. I pulled out this cute little project by Cat's Whiskers called Love Laugh Survive Thrive, and by 6:30 am I had completed all of the stitch for this wee little project. I went to Hobby Lobby later in the morning to pick up the rest of the supplies that it called for to completely finish and assemble. And...by 6:00 pm last night, it was TOTALLY done! I must say that it's very nice (and rare!) to complete something from A to Z in one day! Here's some pictures...

I used all of the recommended fabric and fibers for this project. I think that my favorite part...that you can't even see!...is the pink and white polka dot fabric that I used for the lining! So cute :)

Also, here's my progress on Peppermint Lane. I REALLY want to finish this soon! I'm hoping to get some time in on it tonight during the Super Bowl.
Here's hoping that we all plenty of "couch time" today thanks to football!
