Queen Bee Finish
This is quite possibly one of my most favorite finishes in a while! It is not typical at all for me to enjoy these types of Shepherd's Bush designs, but this one was just too cute to pass up! Such a fun and easy stitch :)

Boo Over the Top Finish
Just Nan "BOO" Over the Top30 ct. WDW Fabric (color unknown)
recommended fibers and embellishments
Started 9-20-08 Finished 9-26-08

Here are pics of my latest finish, the Just Nan Boo Over the Top Tin. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I have the first two in the series, not stitched yet. Now that I've finished this one completely, I definitely have some better ideas for how to finish the others in the series. It always takes me doing something once in order to get a feel for it...the others will definitely turn out better, I think...but this one is good.I'm off work today for Fort Bend County Fair Day. All of the schools are out, so I'm at home doing some cleaning, and obviously, some stitching and finishing :) I wish all of you all out there a wonderful weekend!

Done for now

I pulled Sailing Home back out so that I could finish the boats and the stars. I'm now done with this one until Jack is born! These pics are fairly true to color...well, maybe they're slightly darker in real life...but they're REALLY close!I ran by my LNS today...literally in and out in under 2 minutes...to pick up my ornament issue and the pattern for the stocking I will do for Jack. I picked out another Shepherd's Bush pattern so that it will coordinate with Nicholas' stocking. Nicholas has Reed's stocking and Jack will have Brett's stocking...here's pics of both from the SB website.
Well gang, that's about it for now! Can't remember if I mentioned this a while back, but my LNS got my thread in so that I can finish my Coq au Pins...so I guess I should finish that one up pretty quickly before I venture on to the next project. Although some of the new ornaments in that mag are calling my name :)Happy Stitching to all!

Needleroll finish and Ike survival...
Well, we survived Hurricane Ike! At my house in Richmond, which is SW of Houston, we had 70 mph winds, but really not much damage. My house is just over 1 year old, and was built to post-Katrina codes, so we faired well. That combined with the fact that because it's a new neighborhood, there are no big trees to fall and do damage! So, no tree damage, no lost shingles. Our only "casualty" was a hibiscus bush that looked like it exploded, but other than that, no problems.
I stitched a bit over the last week or so. I've been off work due to the storm, and I was able to start and finish a complete project! I stitched this Shepherd's Bush needle roll during the Ike days the last few days. I'm very pleased how it turned out. This is my 4th needle roll to date, and I can tell a vast improvement in my hemstitching skills!
Other Shepherd's Bush news...have you seen the new designs? These are my personal favorites:
On a completely different note, my husband (just in the last 5 minutes) alerted me that he has FINALLY installed the garage door opener at our house! Woo Hoo!!! His deadline was the birth of our new baby, so he's exactly 1 month ahead of schedule!
Happy Stitching to all!!!

New Stash and pictures of Jack's room
Wow...I've been away for a while. School has definitely kicked back in session, and that makes me so much crazier!!! I bought some new stash at my LNS the other day. I've been watching every one's progress on the Halloween Fairy in this issue of CS&N, and I broke down and bought it. I'm typically not really "into" Halloween...just never have been. But, I think I like this girl so much that I might stitch her up! Also, I picked up my automatic for the JN Over the Top for fall, and the new LHN Autumn Harvest. I think that I might do the LHN over 1...we'll see. Also, as promised a month or so ago, I am posting pictures of Baby Jack's room. It's really close to being totally done. I have to get the shelves up on the wall over the dresser and changing table, and also figure out something to put over the crib. I love all of the blue in this room. My mom made the curtains...she made custom draperies for a living for 26 years, so yes I'm spoiled to WONDERFUL custom draperies in every room of my house! I must also say a HUGE thank you to my brother-in-law. He is a captain in the Air Force and he made the rod for the curtains (wrapped the rod in rope and made the rope knot finials). Thanks to him taking on this project, I didn't have to learn how to do the knots!!

That's it for now...I haven't been stitching a ton lately, because I think that my nesting has kicked in. I've been doing lots of cleaning and organizing to get ready for my Jack :) Hope this finds you stitching, or doing something else that you enjoy!Dianne
