Getting closer

I'm almost done with the major portion of this design now. I have to finish the first few letters of the alpha...a,b,c...and then I need to finish the boats and the stars and the moon. As I did before Nicholas was born, I will probably leave off the name (and of course the date) until after Jack is born. It's amazing...I'll decorate a room, spending tons of hours and hundreds of dollars, but yet I won't put the name on a birth sampler or take tags off of "boy" clothes yet! I'm always so fearful that he will be a girl! It still happens!...

I must also apologize to my new readers for my absence over the last few days. I went back to work last Thursday, after having 2 1/2 months off. I've decided that going back when you're 7 months pregnant is just plain torture!!! We also spent the day yesterday driving to Louisiana...my son is spending a week with my parents.

I hope to finish at least the light blue portion tonight and maybe the boats. We'll see...

Happy Stitching!

Strawberry House finish

Here's the finished pic of Strawberry House. This was such a fun stitch! I absolutely loved every bit of it! I haven't done a LHN in so long, and I think that this has started something! I've got Queen Bee already kitted and ready to go...nevermind that I'm "supposed" to be working on the birth sampler for Jack so that can be finished before I go back to work on Thursday!!!

Two new starts and an award!

First let me say thank you to Erica for nominating me for the Brillante award! I have technically been online for several years now, but really have recently begun blogging again on a regular basis! I usually don't get many visitors, so this is a true surprise! Thank you for thinking of me :) I am going to break the rules (although not the first, as I've seen this on many blogs) and I'm going to extend the nomination to all of those who might be reading who haven't been nominated yet! And, if you're one of those folks, please leave me a comment and I'll gladly start reading and commenting on YOUR blog! We'll share the love together! Here's the rules:

1) Put the logo on your blog.
2) Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4) Add links to those blogs on yours.
5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

On to the stitching stuff...
Here's my progress on Jack's birth sampler, AKA Sailing Home by BBD. I'm really loving this so far! The colors are great, although this picture makes them look a bit washed out. The darker blue is really a very deep navy, and the lighter blue is kind of a medium denim color...very nice together. It's going well for starting on Sunday!

This is the new Strawberry House by LHN. I am stitching this one on 35 ct. Dark Espresso linen by R&R. Again, the colors are a bit washed out, so I'll have to really attempt to get some better pics next time. This one is going to be so cute when it's finished...it will be about 3x5...I love it!

Until next time...happy stitching to all!

A finish and a start

The first pic is the most recent finish to the Red Thread series for me...4 months down, 8 to go. I officially said that I would do 1 per month, so I have until Dec to do the rest, however I obviously have some catching up to do!

As promised here is the picture of my next start, Sailing Home by Blackbird Designs. I am going to stitch this on 36ct. Vintage Maritime White by Lakeside Linens and I will be using DMC threads, rather than overdyeds. I have changed the colors to match the blues in Jack's room. As of now...the lighter blue (322) will be all of the sampler letters, as well as the giant flower in the middle and the birthdate at the bottom. I am planning on using the navy blue (823) to stitch the ships and to do the name at the bottom. I haven't figured out how to translate those ships into 1 color yet, but that will come to me as the project comes along :) I'm starting it today, as I'd love to get a good portion of it stitched before I go back to work on the 14th!

Until next time,
