Almost done and something new

Nicholas looking super cool :)

Just Nan biscornu top (finished)

Just Nan biscornu bottom WIP

With My Needle Quaker Hornbook 1

Last Monday, after I finished 3 projects in one day, I pulled out my Just Nan biscornu. I had started it last fall, but never finished it. I've completely finished the top and I'm down to the beading and backstitching on the bottom. I hope to have it completely stitched and finished this week.

I also started the Quaker Hornbook by With My Needle. I have LOVED this pattern and was so fortunate to find one at The Sampler Guild in the UK. I had it shipped to me from overseas...worth every penny!

On a different note, my son came home from MiMi and Pops house (my parents) yesterday, and I'm so glad to have him back. He went for over a week, and it's nice to have my house back to normal with everyone home. As much as he drives me crazy sometimes...my heart hurts when he's not here!

Whoa...two more finishes!!!

I started both of these during the week this week...I think. They were pretty easy finishes, and obviously pretty quick. Neither picture is great, but you get the idea.

Now off to decide what to stitch next!

Love is finished!

Wow...my last post was really short. Sorry for that! I think I posted when I had about a 102 degree fever...and obviously I was just trying to get the update up!

I finished Love, so that's my 4th finish this month! That's pretty exciting! I am really motivated by all of you out there, and I'm enjoying keeping track of my progress and finishes. I think that it helps to at least have the impression that people out there might be reading this. It helps me stay motivated :)

I also had a great weekend shopping for stash! My LNS had her semi-annual storewide sale...and I was able to get quite a bit of fabric, thread, and buttons for upcoming charts. Of course I did purchase a few new charts too...I just couldn't resist!

Snow update

Just a quick post to show you my progress on Snow. I'm almost done with this and should finish it soon! That's nice, as I'm anxious to add to my "Finishes" column in my blog!

Well, I don't know how much stitching I'll do today. I stayed home from work yesterday with a very sick little boy :( I thought that my husband had over-reacted at first, but as the day went on, it was obvious that he was definitely sick. And after throwing up and fighting a fever of 104 for most of the night, I'm definitely convinced that he's got some yucky virus. I think that naptime today will be for the whole family and not just for Nicholas :)

Slow Progress

I really haven't given up on blogging...just really busy life for the past few days. I am in charge of all standardized and state testing for a large highschool, so the Spring Semester for me is really busy! Since going back on the 2nd, I have definitely hit the ground running. Between that and meetings and events and night, I don't think that I've picked up a needle in 3 or 4 days!

Here's my very meager progress on Red Thread...I'm into the 2nd block now.

In efforts to truly stick to some of my 2008 goals, I dug out...from the depths of my stitching closet...the Shepherds Bush Monthly Musings. Sadly I've had most of the remaining ones kitted up for probably well over a year now. I've decided that I'll try and work on these during the week and that on the weekends, when I have bigger stretches of stitching time, I'll work on the Red Thread. All that being said, here's a pick of my Snow, and also what it will look like finished.

Lastly, I was really good when I went into my LNS this week. I picked up a framing job. I picked up a frame I ordered for an upcoming project, and I did purchase some stash...but only 1 chart! In my world, that's a huge victory :)

According to my blog counter, there are at least a few people reading this now, so THANK YOU! I am enjoying having the record of my starts and finishes.

Hope you all have a good week!

Snowman finished

I finished the Red Thread snowman while I was in the car today. We had to drive to Louisiana to pick up my son, so that gave me plenty of time to stitch.

Still loving this...but I need to work up some sort of rotation, because I can see myself "forgetting" about the other projects that I want to work on :)

Red Thread Pics

Posting these pics makes me really wonder why I waited so long to start this! I'm really enjoying stitching it, and it seems to be coming along pretty quickly. This is a couple of days of stitching (started it 1/1/08 and stitched some yesterday and today...will stitch more tonight too).

Another thing I have definitely decided is that reading blogs is dangerous! I find new things I want to do DAILY :) For example...I have always loved LHN and CCN patterns...and I've stitched a few...but I'd never really looked at the Dear Diary series. But thanks to Vonna, I'm considering them now :)

SB ornaments completed!

Well, I just finished the last of the Shepherd's Bush ornaments from the JCS ornament mags! Woo Hoo! This makes this my official first finish of 2008!

I could have waited until tomorrow to post, but I couldn't wait to show it off :)

2008 Goals...*hopefully*...

Happy New Year! I was on such a roll...posting 3 days in a row...and of course, life gets in the way. Oh well...but I am back today :)

Well, my exciting news of the day is that I have "secured" myself a Queen's Bluebird Box by Just Nan. These were so hard to come by, and my very local LNS didn't have them ever, so I had to resort to calling around to some not so local LNS...and I have one on hold! I'm very excited :) Here's a pic of the project and then also the silks...yummy...

I have recently re-fallen in love with Just Nan, so I'm pumped about finding this little project. And speaking of Just Nan...pics of her new charts are on her site...very cute!!!

I did start my Red Thread yesterday in the car, but no pic yet...it's a VERY pathetic start! My son is out of town for a few days, so I plan to do lots of stitching!

I don't know why I'm attempting to set stitching goals for 2008. I know I will not accomplish them. But I seem to remember something about if you put it in writing, you have a better chance of actually completing it.

1. Complete Red Thread Snappers
2. Complete LK Doubles
3. Stitch at least 6 Christmas ornaments
4. Complete the my remaining 6 LK Flip-It Blocks (May-Oct)
5. Complete and finish at least 1 stocking
6. Complete O Beautiful-Shepherd's Bush
7. Complete Quaker Samplings
8. Complete Shepherd's Bush Monthly Musings (I have 7 left...I think)
9. End the year with less WIPs than I started it with (I don't know the actual number right now...mostly because I'm too embarrased to admit what it is...but I will count soon and "own up" to the real number!)

I think that's not totally outrageous, right!!!

Off to my hot tea and stitching-filled afternoon!!!
